Transfer of credits in the Discipline of Science

The Department of Science at 香港六合彩开奖记录 (CCC) will accept transfer of a science course from another institution only if the said class includes a laboratory component. This class will be transferred as equivalent to the appropriate science class at CCC. If the transferred class incorporates a laboratory class, with no equivalent class offered at CCC, this class will transfer as a science elective credits. In the case where the transferred class does not incorporate a laboratory component the class will transfer as "free elective" credits.

Official Policy on Proficiency Exams and Portfolios in the Discipline of Science

The Department of Science at 香港六合彩开奖记录 (CCC) will make available a list of science proficiency exams that students may successfully complete to earn science credit at CCC.  Included in this list will be the proficiency exam title, the minimum passing score a student must earn to receive CCC science credit, the number of credits a student will be awarded and the course number and title that will appear on the CCC transcript.  Only methods of evaluation on the list of approved proficiency exams will be honored by the CCC Science Department due to their known reliability/validity and increased transferability.  This policy encompasses all CCC science courses listed in the table below.

The following exams are the only exams approved by the Science Department to be used in issuing Life Experience Credit for courses housed in the Math/Science Division. These are all courses with a BIO, CHE or PHY prefix.

Policies on SCI 110

The Department of Science at 香港六合彩开奖记录 (CCC) will waive the co-requisite requirement for a student to take SCI 110 (Foundational Skills in science) if a student has previously completed CHE111 or BIO101 from CCC, with a grade of C or better. If CCC accepts transfer of a majors General Biology or General Chemistry class (with laboratory component) from another institution (with a grade of C or better), the student would also be exempt from taking SCI110. This does not apply to students who enroll in Math and Science A.S. degree in Fall 2015 or later.

The Department does not count SCI 110 (Foundational Skills in Science) as equivalent to a laboratory class.

  • For students who were enrolled in the Math and Science A.S. degree prior to Fall 2015, SCI110 can be used toward Math/Science elective or free elective credit.
  • For students who enroll in the Math & Science A.S. degree in Fall 2015 or later, SCI110 is used to satisfy the Scientific Literacy requirement.
  • For students enrolled in other degree programs at CCC, SCI110 can be used as free elective credit only.

The Department of Science at 香港六合彩开奖记录 (CCC) offers SCI 110 (Foundational Skills in Science) as a 7 week course. As such the department will not permit students to be added during the first add/drop week of the semester, unless they attend a mandatory make-up class prior to the second week of the course.
