Our current status is standard procedure from the commission's perspective, given a warning status of two years. It stems most recently from a March 2024 site visit.
It is not a reflection of the work we have done in the intervening months or the plans we are working on now.
The SUNY system, our board of trustees and campus leadership remain committed to growing our programming, moving our primary location and all the steps we have already undertaken and announced.
We are accredited. We receive both federal and state financial aid awards. And our diplomas and certificates are recognized by relevant academic and professional organizations.
We are completing a Substantive Change Request, essentially a checklist for us to complete, detailing all aspects of the new location, with projected costs, estimations and assumptions that are both real and timely.
This is on track to be developed over summer 2024, along with a memorandum of understanding with SUNY Plattsburgh. This is both understandable and acceptable to Middle States.
Middle States has pledged to work with our campus and is an ally in our shared goal of building a sustainable community college to serve our region. The leadership of SUNY system is as well. Together, this gives us a path forward.

Filing a Complaint
NYSED Office of Professional Education Program Review will attempt to assist in the resolution of complaints about academic quality, refunds, and proper application of published institutional policies in professional programs (i.e., related to the licensed professions) at postsecondary institutions in New York State. The Department will no take action until all grievance procedures at the institution have been followed and all avenues of appeal exhausted. These steps should be documented in the complaint.
